DESCRIPTION
The Eights pattern face mask is made with 100% cotton ramit, handwoven by the Indigenous Mangyan tribes of Mindoro, Philippines. It is woven on a backstrap loom and features intricate geometric patterns. Traditionally worn as skirts or used as blankets for carrying children, the pattern now finds other uses in scarves, shawls, bags, and table runners. It takes one week to weave a standard 23”x108” ramit.
Your purchase of this mask supports Indigenous Mangyan weavers in the Philippines. It also helps to fund the programs of the Mangyan Heritage Center, as well as to provide school supplies and hygiene kits to local schools.
